The most famous is undoubtedly the one that leads to the<strong> Ciane<\/strong> Spring, a freshwater spring that gushes between rocks. Legend has it that the nymphs of Greek mythology frequented this area to admire the beauty of the place. Another popular activity for visitors is a canoe trip on the <strong>Ciane River<\/strong>. Because of its clear water and gentle current, the river is an ideal place to practice this activity. Canoes are available for rental within the Reserve.<\/p>\n<h2>GUIDED TOURS AND BIRD WATCHING<\/h2>\n<p>The Reserve also organizes guided tours with expert <strong>ornithologists<\/strong> for <strong>bird watchers <\/strong>numerous opportunities to observe birds nesting in the area. Numerous <strong>bird<\/strong> species can be spotted here, including <strong>herons<\/strong>, <strong>pink<\/strong> <strong>flamingos<\/strong> and numerous birds of prey. The Fiume Ciane and Saline Reserve of Syracuse is located just a few kilometers from Catania Airport, Sicily&#8217;s main airport. From the airport you can reach the Reserve in a short time, either by car or bus. For those who want to visit the Reserve by car, free parking is available within the Reserve parking lot. The parking lot is guarded and is a short walk from the main entrance to the Reserve.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the <strong>Ciane River and Salt Pans Reserve of Syracuse<\/strong> is just a few kilometers from the famous city of <strong>Ortigia<\/strong>, a place rich in history and culture. Ortigia is a must-see destination for those visiting Syracuse, with its picturesque narrow streets, Baroque churches, and local markets. It also offers a very special story.
