Come and discover “Mitoraj. The Look, Humanitas, Physis“, the open-air sculptural exhibition created with Igor Mitoraj works, which will stop in Sicily from March 26 to October 31, 2025. Thirty monumental works by the Polish artist, famous for his reinterpretation of classical aesthetics, will be exhibited mainly in the evocative setting of the Neapolis Archaeological Park in Syracuse.

This extraordinary exhibition is more than just an art exhibition: it is an exciting journey between knowledge and emotional participation. From Syracuse, with its rich historical heritage, to the majesty of MountEtna, Mitoraj’s works blend magically with the places that host them, inviting visitors to reflect on the fragility of contemporary man and his relationship with nature.
One of the most impressive works in the exhibition is “Theseus Cracked,” a monumental bronze sculpture that stands on the southwest slope of Mount Etna, set in a sweeping view with the volcano’s backdrop. Positioned near the entrance to the high-mountain track in the territory of Ragalna, this dramatic representation of the legendary Greek hero is a symbol of the strength and fragility of human beings.
A good opportunity to admire these extraordinary works of art and to immerse oneself in the unique vision of Igor Mitoraj, an artist whose work continues to inspire and enchant even after his passing. The exhibition, sponsored by the Neapolis Archaeological Park in Syracuse and curated by Atelier Mitoraj, will be open during the park’s opening hours, with an
additional cost of only 3 euros to the site entrance fee.
Artist Igor Mitoraj (1944-2014), born in Oederan, Saxony, left an indelible mark on the contemporary art world. His monumental works have been exhibited all over the world, from the streets of large cities such as Milan and Rome to renowned archaeological sites such as the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento and the archaeological site of Pompeii.
